The Award is given to three students - 2(two) prizes for the 1st and 2nd female students and l(one) prize for the 1st male student as per rank order of the Examination results. The first prize carrying a cash value of Rs. 3,000/- is given to the 1st rank holder. The 2nd prize carries a cash value of Rs. 2,500/- and the 3rd prize carries a cash value of Rs. 2,000/-.
Born in 1900, Shri Konjengbam Gouro Singh, popularly known as Konjeng Gouro joined the Johnstone High School, Imphal as an Assistant Teacher on 12-10-1925 and he was promoted to Headmaster in 1938. He was the first Official Education Minister on Interim Council, Manipur from 14-8-1947 to 29-11-1948. He was appointed Inspector of Schools on 1-6-1952 and retired from service on 1-2-1956. Late Gouro was a pioneer of education of Manipur and he took active part in social activities. He expired in 1976.

This Award is given to the student who secures the highest marks in Mathematics and passes the HSLC Examination in the first division. The award was instituted in honour of late Shri Elangbam Bokul Singh and late Smt. Lakshi Devi of Keishamthong Elangbam Leikai, Imphal by their sons and daughters and grandsons. Late Shri Bokul Singh was a devoted teacher throughout his lifetime and he had a great love of Mathematics as a discipline of studies. He died at the age of 93 in 1993. Late Smt. Lakshi Devi led a pious life throughout and though not so educated, she took a great care for the education of her children. She was honoured by the State Government with the Best Mother Award in 1975 in recognition of her contributions to moulding of the careers of her children. She died at the age of 93 in 2001.

This Award was instituted on 1611 June, 1999 by Smt. Thounaojam Ongbi Rajkumari Sanatombi Devi in memory of her only beloved son late Thounaojam Nirmal Kumar Singh. He entered the service as a Reader at Govt Ideal Blind School, Takyelpat and rendered his service for the cause of blind at this Institute till his last breathe. Shri Th. Nirmalkumar was born on 2311 May, 1962 and passed away untimely on 81", December, 1996.

Late Arambam Ibungotomcha Singh, a former Durbar Member and the First Finance Minister of Manipur expired on 10-07-2000 in his residence at Sagolband Bijoygovinda, Imphal at the age of 98. A brilliant student in his school and college days, Ibungotomcha Singh held many positions under Maharaj Churachand Singh & Maharaj Bodhchandra Singh. During World War II, he was a member of Air Force Precaution Organisation and was also a member of the State Law Codification Committee. He was a founder member of D.M. College, Imphal College and many other educational institutions of Manipur.

He then worked in the Manipur State Office (Now Manipur Secretariat) as a Librarian - cum - Store Keeper till his retirement in 1942. Shri Leiren expired on July 12, 1956 and Smt. Ibemhal Devi on September 15, 1948. Shri Leiren loved children and encouraged them to work hard in their studies. He was sociable and amiable person.

The award is instituted through the Thadou- Kuki Literature Society, Manipur by Shri Sehkho Kipgen(IPS) Former Ambassador of India, in the loving memory of his father (L) Shri Thangkho Pao Kipgen(IAS Retd.), Founder Chairman of Thadou-Kuki Literature Society, Manipur, w.e.f 2008. Earlier it was instituted by Thadou-Kuki Literature Society, Manipur. The prize is awarded to the student who secures the highest mark with letter in Thadou-Kuki language subject and passed in first division. In case of tie, the student who secures the highest mark in aggregate will be the recipient.
Born on 3"' March, 1920 Shri T.Kipgen matriculated from the Johnstone High School in First Division in 1938 and graduated from the Cotton College, Guwahati in 1942.
Serving in various capacities, Pu T. Kipgen's career reached zenith as member of the Constituent Assembly of Manipur in 1948, as IAS officer from the 1953, as the Chief Secretary of Goa, Daman and Diu in 1972 till his retirement. After retirement Shri T. Kipgen served both the Central and the State Government in various responsible positions. Lastly, he contributed his invaluable service to his community as the founding Chairman of the Thadou-Kuki Literature Society till his death. He died on the 3"d March, 2005 on his 85th birthday in Imphal.

Born on 91h October, 1975, Capt. Khomdram Satishkumar Singh was the third child of Khomdram Ibocha Singh & Khomdram Ongbi Hijam Mema Devi of Haobam Marak Irom Leikai. Capt, Satishkumar Singh was a bright student with holding the 2011' position in the HSLC Examination, 1991 and 18th position in the HSSLC Examination, 1993. After passing B.E. (Civil) in first class, he joined in the Indian Military Academy. He was commissioned in the Indian Army as Lieutenant in 1998. He participated in many operations against the foreign infiltrators. In recognition of his service to the nation, the Government of India awarded him Sena Medal in the year, 2001. His life came to an end on 27th November, 2001 in a tragic accident. In his loving memory, his parents instituted "CAPTAIN KHOMDRAM SATISHKUMAR SINGH MEMORIAL AWARD" to give a cash award of Rs. 2.ODD/- to a student who secured highest rank among the students of State Government Sohools.

Lovingly known as Freedom Fighter, Hemam Nilamani Singh, was a social activist throughout his life. Born on July 10, 1912 tir Moirang, Nilamani joined the INA led by Netaji Suhhas Chandra Bose during World War II. When the INA retreated at Burma, he was captured by the British army and imprisoned in Rangoon Central Jail in September 1945. Soon after his release, he founded the "Azad Co-Operative Society" in 1946. In 1954, he was elected Secretary of the "INA Martyrs Memorial Committee". In 1957. he was elected to the Manipur Territorial Council and in 1972 to Manipur Legislative Assembly. He was appointed Deputy Minister of Education in 1972. H. Nilamani Singh was awarded "Tamrapatra" by the Indian Government for his sacrifice in the freedom movement. In 1974, he founded "Manipur Women's Co-operative Bank". He was awarded "Ganga Saran Singh Purashkar" in 1995 for his work in propagating Hindi Hemam Nilamani Singh expired on February 13, 2002.

The award is instituted by the family of late Thockchom Birahari Singh of Singjamei Mathak Thokchom Leikai, Imphal w.e.f the year 2005.
Born on the 911 day of January, 1908 at Singjamei Mathak Thokchom Leikai, Imphal Shri Th. Birahari Singh worked as a teacher first in Tamphasana Girls' School ( at present T.G. Hr. Sec. School) and then worked in the Revenue Department. By further promotion, he became SDO/SDM till he retired from the Govt Service on 10" June, 1970.
As an activist for imparting education in the state he took active part in establishing the present Regional Medical College, Manipur College and Ch. Iboyaima Hr. Sec. School, Imphal. He also worked for economic development of the state by joining in the establishment of Urban Co-operative Bank, Manipur. He also worked with Hijam Dhaballo and Erabot as a member of Manipur Seba Samiti. He was the President of 1" Manipur Scouts Union. He was a great artist and took keen interest in sports. He expired on 13'h November, 1976 leaving behind his wife Rajkumari Thambalsana Devi, seven daughters and two sons.

She joined Medical Department of Government of Manipur as a Medical Officer and retired as Senior Specialist(MCH) on superannuation in October, 2002. She expired on 16th March, 2003 and left two daughters and four sons.

Shri Irengbam Brajagopal Singh was born on 28/7/1925 at Singjamei Wangma Kshetri Leikai, Imphal. He was unable to complete his class X at Churachand High School due to Japanese bombing in Manipur. From this time, he started his career on contract works and then turned to this line fully. Afterwards, he was recognised as a Special Contractor. At the last part of his life, he passed a peaceful life by carrying on business.
Shri Brajagopal Singh was a man of word, had no choice of work and believed in "Work is worship". Though he was not well educated, his hobby was reading of several books. Shri Brajagopal expired on 05/02/2005 at the age of 80.
